How mertozeren.com handles personal data: what the site collects, why, who processes it, and your rights under KVKK.

This policy explains how mertozeren.com (the "Site") handles personal data. The Site is a personal profile page. It has no accounts, no forms, and no advertising, and it does not set cookies.
Personal data is processed in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK").
This English text is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Turkish version, the Turkish version prevails.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Mert Özeren, an individual based in Ankara, Türkiye, who runs the Site personally. The Site is not operated by his employer.

2. What the Site collects
Analytics. The Site uses Tinyanalytics, a cookieless analytics service. When a page loads, its script sends the page address, the referring page, and your screen size, and measures how quickly the page loads and responds (Core Web Vitals). Tinyanalytics also receives the IP address and browser user agent that every web request carries. It turns them into a one-way hash used as an anonymous visitor identifier, and does not store the raw IP address.
Hosting. The Site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the Site from attacks, Cloudflare processes request data such as your IP address, user agent, the address requested, and the time of the request.
Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is not sent anywhere.
Email. If you write to the email address on the Site, your email address and the contents of your message are used only to reply to you.
The Site does not use cookies, does not ask for your name or email address, and does not collect special categories of personal data.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
Personal data is processed to:
- deliver the Site and keep it secure
- reply to messages you send
- understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and how well they perform
The legal basis is legitimate interest under Article 5(2)(f) of KVKK, provided it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms. Your data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to make automated decisions about you.
4. Who processes the data
These service providers process data as data processors:
- Cloudflare, Inc., for hosting and content delivery
- Tinyanalytics, for website analytics
- the email service that hosts his mailbox, for messages you send
Their servers may be located outside Türkiye. Transfers abroad are carried out under Article 9 of KVKK. Personal data may also be disclosed to competent public authorities where the law requires it.
5. How long data is kept
Data is kept only as long as the purposes above require. Analytics data is used in aggregate to see how the Site is read over time. Cloudflare keeps request logs under its own retention practices. Emails are kept for as long as the conversation requires. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed
- request information about it if it has been processed
- learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly
- know the third parties it is transferred to, in Türkiye or abroad
- request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate
- request its erasure or destruction under the conditions in Article 7 of KVKK
- request that a correction, erasure, or destruction be notified to the third parties it was transferred to
- object to a result against you arising solely from automated analysis
- claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing
7. How to make a request
To exercise your rights, use mertozeren@popupsmart.com. Include your name and surname, a way to reach you, and what you are asking for. Requests are answered free of charge within thirty days at the latest.
Because the analytics identifier is a one-way hash and raw IP addresses are not stored, it may not be possible to connect analytics records to you.
8. Links to other websites
The Site links to other websites, such as his profile on his employer's website. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which govern any data they collect.
9. Children
The Site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may change when the Site or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
